I GUESS I ONLY RAVE NOW: The Yeon Jeju Canola Honey Wrapping Multi Cream

I’m not gonna beat around the bush here: this is a rave. My last review was a rave. I guess, as stated above, that I only rave now. There are worse things.

What it’s supposed to do

According to Tester Korea, this is an “intensely moisturising multi cream which enables to nourish skin and maintain appropriate oil and the moisture balance of the skin with patented honey cream containing 30% of Canola honey extract.”

In other words, it’s a moisturizing cream.

How to use it

Apply as the final step before sunscreen (AM) or sleeping pack (PM) if you use one. This can also be used as a sleeping pack on its own. I use 1 pump in the morning and 2 pumps at night.

Ingredient highlights

As you can see from all the ingredients ending in -xane and -cone, this is a primarily silicone-based formula. That means it has a smooth, powdery feel and isn’t oily or sticky. I personally love silicones – they’re one of my favorite occlusives, since they keep moisture in really well without feeling heavy or stifling. Some people have a sensitivity to them, though.

Beyond that, we’ve got some great stuff: honey (the first ingredient) is a fantastic soothing, moisturizing, and anti-redness ingredient that also has antibacterial properties. The various plant extracts cover a wide variety of purposes and effects, from brightening (soybean ferment extract) to antioxidant (broccoli extract) to anti-inflammatory (aloe extract).

What it’s like in action

The bottle is an airless pump made of sturdy plastic. This design prevents air from mixing with the product, meaning it’ll stay fresh and non-oxidized for longer.

It’s an extreeeeemely thick, transparent gel. If you put a blob on your hand, it’ll stay in blob form until you spread it around.

It has a really beautiful honey color, and an even more beautiful honey smell. It spreads smoothly and isn’t sticky in the slightest.

It takes quite a while to soak in, depending on how much you use. I use one pump in the morning and find it takes about 15 minutes to fully soak in; my two-pump sleeping pack can take a full hour to soak in (I usually just sleep on my back to let it do its thing). Once it’s soaked in, it has a beautiful satin-dewy finish.

My experience

I have dry skin. As in, I have not known a time where those oil blotter sheets would do anything other than smear my makeup. And since I started using tretinoin last year, my dry skin has doubled down on itself and has started peeling from my face in earnest. I don’t know what I did to offend my skin cells but they do NOT want to stay on my face.

I’ve done my very best to keep my skin happy – I mean, you’ve read this blog. I pamper my skin. I treat it gentle, I treat it right. I layer on the hydration and lock it in with occlusives. A typical AM routine involves a vitamin C serum, two hydrating serums, two creams, and a moisturizing sunscreen.

And yet, and yet. By the end of the day in my office’s drying A/C, my face was still be a flaky mess. I couldn’t wear foundation or BB cream to work, because it would look flat-out ridiculous by 2pm. I didn’t know what else I could do.

Enter The Yeon.

I don’t know what it is about this stuff. Is it the honey, which has such amazing moisturizing and soothing properties? Is it the silicone formula, which locks in moisture and keeps the A/C from sucking my skin dry? Is it the botanical extracts that work in beautiful harmony to keep my skin plump, even, and hydrated?

Probably all of the above. All I know is, this is the only cream that keeps my skin from flaking. Period. I smooth one pump on before my sunscreen, and I can easily last 10 hours at my desk with nary a flake hitting the floor.

It also works fantastically as a sleeping mask; I pack on two pumps and wake up to insanely soft skin.

Hell, I often use a tiny bit on my lips before bed and seal it in with lip balm or Vaseline. I have never experienced soft, smooth, plump lips like I have with The Yeon. This has become an absolute must for me if I know I’m wearing lipstick or lip stain the following day.

This stuff is magic in a bottle.

Conclusion

Eh whatever, take it or leave it I guess JUST KIDDING I AM IN LOVE-LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCT.

The single downside is how long it takes to soak in; you have to factor in some extra time to your routine to make sure you don’t have some unintended shine to your face.

Beyond that, it’s flawless. The only moisturizer that keeps my dry skin moisturized all day? Check. Amazing sleeping pack? Check. Turns lips from dry & chapped to smooth & plump overnight? CHECKITY CHECK CHECK.

I will never let myself run out of this stuff.
