Premature Raves: Dr. Jart+ Premium Firming Sleeping Mask and SNP Birds Nest Aqua Ampoule Mask

Right now, as I write this, my skin has never felt better. Like, I keep poking my cheeks at my desk to feel them bounce back. (I’m sure it’s an extremely professional look in my open plan office.)

It takes at least a couple of weeks of rigorous testing to fully endorse a product, so these are more “first impressions” than full reviews. But I’ve tried two new products in the last week, and I know it’s early, but I think I’m in love.

Premature Rave #1: Dr. Jart+ Premium Firming Sleeping Mask

I got this in a Memebox sale months ago and it never found its way into my testing rotation until now. It’s a sleeping pack, applied as the final step in an evening routine. It’s unscented with a dark reddish-brown color and a very thick gel consistency that absorbs quickly and completely. This isn’t a sleeping pack you have to worry about rubbing off on your pillow.

I’ve used it for the last four nights, and you guys: the firming. OH, THE FIRMING. It feels nourishing and luxurious as you apply it, and in the morning, I’ve been waking up to the firmest, bounciest skin since I was a child. (I assume – I wasn’t especially analytical of my skin’s bounce factor while organizing my Beanie Baby collection.) I honestly cannot believe how good my skin feels. (It’s $40 on Amazon Prime, FYI.)

I will definitely be writing a full review of this product in a couple of weeks, if I can stop touching my face for long enough. That’s a big if.

Premature Rave #2: SNP Birds Nest Aqua Ampoule Mask

As I mentioned in my Graymelin Propolis 80 Energy Ampoule review, I recently had a run-in with some skin roughening medication side effects. My skin texture transformed into what I like to call “rhinoceros elbow face”. It was not a cute look.

The Graymelin helped sooth the texture a lot, but there was still a distinct roughness to my face when I got this month’s Mishibox, which included an SNP Birds Nest Aqua mask. I’d heard good things about SNP masks, so I stuck it on my face within 10 minutes of opening the box.

The mask material is very soft cotton; it holds a ton of essence but didn’t drip any down my neck, thankfully, because that is the WORST FEELING. (Looking at you, all My Beauty Diary masks.) I took it off after half an hour and it still had plenty of juice left.

A few minutes after I took it off, I touched my cheek to make sure it had all soaked in and did a double take. The roughness was gone. Like, 100% completely absent. And it stayed gone! I have not had any roughness issues since using this mask a week ago. I immediately went out and bought a 10-pack (it’s $15 for 10 on Amazon Prime). I’ve used a couple since then and they’ve been moisturizing, plumping, and smoothing to a crazy degree.

If I keep falling in love with products at this rate, I’m not going to have enough room on my face for all of them. Anyone have an extra face they’re not using?
